Zenit 11 (1981-1990)

Zenit 11 (1981-1990)
#405
This photo is from the copy I own

History and technical features

The Zenit 11 is a solidly-built camera with essentially the same Leica type cloth shutter as earlier Soviet rangefinder and SLR cameras. It has an external selenium meter mounted on the prism front above the lens. The meter isn't coupled to the camera. The Zenit uses the M42 Pentax screw-mount lens which means there is a variety of lenses from all over the world that will fit it. Partially depressing the shutter release stops down the lens. Additional pressure releases the shutter (source: http://home.att.net/~wayne.cornell/camera/russianslr.html).

The KMZ and Belomo manufactured Zenit 11 (Зенит 11) 35mm SLR was a member of the Zenit E family derived from the Zenit ET but with different control placement and generally in all black but examples with chrome tops are known. Examples were produced with several strap lug variations and with the Zenit name in either Latin or Cyrillic script. It was produced from 1981 through 1990.

Zenit 122 (1990-2003)

Zenit 122 (1990-2003)
#87
Esta fotografia é do exemplar que possuo.

Características

The Zenit 122 is a 35mm SLR made in Russia by KMZ, introduced in 1990 — one of a long series of Zenits. Lenses have the 42mm screw thread fitting; the standard lens was a 58mm f2 Helios.

The Zenit-122 (read Zenit-12-2) is an amateur SLR that evolved out of the Zenit-E through the Zenit-TTL and the Zenit-12. In essence it's the same camera, although in 35 years KMZ added a TTL light meter, clear viewfinder, design body and plastic controls.

The 122 comes complete with a Helios-44M-5 or -6, or a Helios-77M-4, all of which are of unimpressive mechanical quality (i.e. lightweight and all plastic). The 122's main merit is that it does the job reliably and cheaply, but without the frills.

Some derived models include the Zenit-122K (with K mount), the FS-122 (fotosnaiper), and the Zenit-122B (a stripped model).

Especificações

This Zenit model features an ABS plastic body and a TTL light meter, displaying on the right of the viewfinder as red LEDs, for over and under exposure, and a green one for correct settings. (The earliest versions had a system using two red LEDs.) The ground-glass focusing screen has microprism and split-image focus aids.

The focal plane shutter has speeds from 1/30 to 1/500 + В.

There is a self-timer, set by first locking down the shutter release, then setting a thumbwheel on the (photographer's) right-hand end of the camera, and then firing the timer using the button on the front, below the 122 marking; below that is the self-timer indicator.

Modelo

Zenit TTL (1977-1985)

Zenit TTL

Esta fotografia é do exemplar que possuo.

Câmara gentilmente oferecida por Ida Brandão.

Características

The Zenit TTL is a 35mm film SLR camera made by KMZ and produced between 1977-85 with quantity of 1.632.212 units. It is also made by MMZ (BelOMO) and produced between 1980-82 with quantity of 1.000.000 units. It belongs to the long lasting Zenit series.

It was an upgraded version of the Zenit EM, adding stop-down TTL metering and a rewind crank in place of the knob. The meter is not voltage sensitive and will work fine with a 1.5 volt alkaline battery.

The viewfinder is blue-tinted and comparatively dim and small (cf. the 'brilliant'-type Zenit E). The central portion of the viewfinder screen has a micro prism in the middle surrounded by a clear matte area.

The camera was also sold by Cambridge Camera Exchange in the U.S. under the label Cambron TTL.

This camera is a Zenit-EM with a TTL meter. The meter is a Match the needle type with a circle between a + and a -. The Zenit-TTL was available with chrome top (several variants of early KMZ with TTL in Cyrillic and later BeLomo) and completely black.

Produced: 1976-1985
Name: „Зенит-TTL“
Producer: KMZ
Frame size: 24x36.
Lens: Helios-44M  2/58.
Shutter: 1/30s-1/500s + B.

Quantity: 1.632.212 units.

Modelo

A minha é uma PM4725 (ver Sovietcams):  The most common version of Zenit-TTL camera. The new style of selftimer lever. Shutter advance, shutter speeds and film rewind heads are new style already. 4 screws in a lensmount already. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #78079809 (Molotok 2008). Some cameras have soviet "Sign of Quality" on an accessory shoe.

A minha tem o n.º de série 80204573, o que parece indicar que foi fabricada em 1980 pela KMZ.
